A new visitor has arrived from the outer solar system, COMET LEMMON!
Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon) is lighting up the night sky this October — and we’re offering a limited-time tour to witness it under some of the darkest skies in North America.
We are excited to announce our first celestial event tour! This is a new astro-tourism offering for the Big Bend region. We will be doing A LOT these for celestial events such as eclipses, meteor showers and comets!
Feeling spontaneous? Our first celestial event tour is shaping up to be a spectacular one. Join us for two nights of guided comet hunting, stargazing, and astrophotography, all under the Orionid meteor shower! Comet Lemmon will soon transition to our evening sky and is a sight you will not want to miss. Come along with us to see the naked eye comet from the darkest locations around Big Bend, and stay here at the Terlingua Ghost Town Rentals, BoHo Style.
Want to hear the best part and cherry on top? The Orionid Meteor shower peaks during this time frame so get ready for more shooting stars than you can count! :)
What’s Included?
Two Nights at our Ghost Town Rentals or RV Park— For you and one guest, with the option to add comet hunter’s for an additional fee. We also have a very nice RV Park for a discounted price. For more information on our lodging options, click here.
Comet-Hunting Adventures — Travel with us for two nights to remote dark-sky locations around Big Bend to witness and photograph Comet C/2025 A6 (Lemmon).
Astrophotography Add-On — Interested in learning how to capture the comet yourself? Add a guided astrophotography session where you’ll learn camera setup, tracking, and framing techniques.
Deep Sky Experience — After comet viewing, we will return to the Ghost Town for a full night of deep-sky exploration — observing galaxies, nebulae, and star clusters through telescopes and live astrophotography.
Personal Photos — Optional portraits of you, your friends, or loved ones with the comet and under the Milky Way sky to remember the moment.

Meals and beverages (we have a lot of good recommendations for the area or you can bring your own. All of our rentals have a kitchen)
Transportation to and from Ghost Town Rentals.
Transportation to and from our comet hunting spots (4x4 drive or high clearance is not needed)
